Hazardous Materials Incident Commander: This 16 hour CSTI course provides the tools a person needs to assume control of an emergency response to a hazardous materials incident. Students will receive a certificate from CSTI. This class is required for your Calif State Fire Officer Certification.
Hazardous Materials Assistant Safety Officer: This 16 hour CSTI course concentrates on safe hazardous materials incident operations are critical to response and containment. Students will begin by assessing the incident as a “big picture” and learn to maintain site safety and control. Students will receive a certificate from CSTI.
Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations: This 16 hour CSTI course trains first responders at the operations level to respond in a defensive manner to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of an initial response. This content focuses on tactics a responder can use to protect persons, the environment, and property from the effects of a hazardous materials release. Students will receive a certificate from CSTI. This Class is not Pro Board Certified.
Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness: This 8 hour CSTI course is designed for fire prevention officers, firefighters, police officers, ambulance personnel, private industry emergency responders, military personnel, and government employees. Students will receive a certificate from CSTI and the State Fire Marshals Office. This class is required for your Calif State Fire Inspector 1 Certification.
HAZWOPER Refresher
This 8 hour course is intended to assist in satisfying the annual training requirement of the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) rule, found in Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1910.120.
Confined Space Awareness
This 9 hour SFM class is for the Fire Service and General Industry is an introductory course that reviews safety techniques for working in a confined space. Topics covered in this confined spaces training include: the basics of OSHA's confined space regulations, confined space entry (CSE) permits and recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazards. Students will receive a certificate from the State Fire Marshal.
